Course Overview

This NVQ Level 2 qualification is ideal for experienced plasterers who work on construction sites or in domestic and commercial projects. It’s designed for tradespeople with at least 3 years’ practical experience who now want to gain formal recognition of their skills, improve employability, and secure a Blue CSCS Skilled Worker Card.

This route is fully work-based, meaning you can qualify while continuing to work — no college, no exams, just proof of your skills through real evidence.

Assessment:

  • No classroom attendance required
  • Remote portfolio submission (with optional on-site assessment if needed)
  • Observation, photos, videos, method statements, and professional discussion
  • Tailored 1-on-1 support from your assigned assessor

What it Covers:

  • Applying solid and fibrous plaster
  • Fixing plasterboard and preparing background surfaces
  • Producing internal and external finishes
  • Working with angle beads, stop beads, and corner reinforcement
  • Repairing damaged plasterwork
  • Conforming to general and workplace health & safety practices
  • Efficient site practices and waste minimisation

Eligibility:

  • Minimum 3 years hands-on plastering experience
  • Aged 18 or over
  • Currently working in a plastering role (employed or self-employed)
