This qualification is aimed at skilled partition fixers who are actively working on-site and want to gain formal recognition for their trade. It’s perfect for experienced operatives with 6 months of hands-on work in installing metal stud partitions, MF ceilings, and drylining systems. Whether you’re working on commercial fit-outs, residential builds, or refurbishments, this NVQ helps you prove your ability and move forward in your career.
Assessment:
- No classroom time
- 100% work-based evidence
- Remote portfolio submission (with on-site visit if required)
- Photos, videos, method statements, and professional discussions
- Evidence of your real work in live environments
What It Covers:
- Installing different types of suspended ceilings (MF, lay-in grid, acoustic panels)
- Measuring, setting out and aligning grid and support systems
- Working with fixings, insulation, panels, and tiles
- Reading drawings and specifications
- Health and safety on-site
- Communication and teamwork in construction environments
- Solving problems and ensuring quality control
Eligibility:
- Minimum 6 months of relevant site experience
- Age 18+
- Currently employed in partition fixing or interior systems role
